“In life, we do things. Some, we wish we had never done and some we wish we could replay a million times. They make us who we are and, in the end, they shape and detail us. If we were to reserve them, we wouldn’t be the person we are today. So, just live. Make mistakes and have wonderful memories. But, never second guess who you are, where you’ve been and, most importantly, where you’re going.”-unknown.

Peer editing at its best.
note: 87% of college boys have this poster hanging somewhere in there apartments. My favorites...
“Is this a typo or are you being experimental?”
“Maybe a little less time should be spent describing the Cheetos in this scene.”
“You talk about pregnant raindrops and chaos and auditory canals and ‘the passing of time’ as ‘an orifice,’ when you could really just be talking about humidity and ears.”
"This character seems like a huge jerk for an otherwise savvy lady to bring home."
"The jungle images and alien abduction seem to clash a bit here."
“It’s your story, your voice, your choices, and I don’t want to question them, but why these words?”
“The problem is I have all these questions I don’t necessarily want you to answer for me. I raise these questions to let you know that there were questions, and if you had intended me to perceive the answers to any of them, I didn’t.”
“You probably don’t need about half of what’s written here.”
such moments are just another reason why {i love college} ...

10 questions for me.
so i suppose i'll let you in on some scoop from my life.
The rules are, erase the answers already listed and fill in my own then pass it on to four bloggers of my choice. So here it is:
1. Who is the hottest Movie Star?
seeing as how conan o'brien is not a movie star...
i'll have to go with hugh laurie.
He is a F-O-X.
2. Apart from your house and car, what is the most expensive item you have ever bought? My plane ticket to Germany back in 2005. $1,200 i think?
3. What is your most treasured memory?
Oh, that is far too difficult. I have so many treasured memories, so many. And i have an excellent memory which proves to be both a blessing & at some times, a curse.
I would say that my entire childhood was a treasure. My family is incredible.
but here's a funny memory for you all:
My sister katie & i used to share a room when i was a little girl. She had a poster of Albert Einstein on the wall next to our bed & every night i would make her take it down because i was terrified of it! thanks sister, i still appreciate that. ; )
4. What was the best gift you ever received as a child?
My blankey Pinkey. I have slept with her every night since having recieved her when i was three months old in the hospital for a stomach problem. I used to take her in my backpack on stormy days incase a tornado were to hit our house, so she would be safe with me.

5. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made?
i'm going to steal Helen's brilliant answer:
"My mistakes have led me to here."
6. 4 words to describe yourself?
i like to laugh.
7. What was your highlight or low light of 2008?
highlight: KU winning the NCAA Men's basketball National Championship.
lowlight: My Grandma Allen's passing.
8. Favorite Film?
A Very Long Engagement.

9. Tell me one thing I don’t know about you.
I can not stand cotton balls, papertowels, q-tips, popscicle sticks, etc. they give me goosebumps & makes me cringe... like how "fingernails on a chalkboard" are to some.
10. If you were a comic book/strip or cartoon character, who would you be?
PepperAnn!! i wrote a paper in 9th grade on how much alike we are.

The four bloggers I am tagging with this Meme are:
sara
tooj
barb

"teacher marks our height against the wall."
summer really flew this year- but i suppose i'm ready...clearly not as ready as i was on my very first day of school in 1992-- seeing as how my outfit tomorrow will not be anywhere as cool as the one i'm rocking in the picture below.
{oh & my hair just won't do the old "mushroom top" as well as it used to...}
{me & geoff, 1992}first day of preschool.
my rekindled white stripes obsession,
i've been listening to
this song a lot today.
it is so delightful.
-the white stripes-
Fall is here, hear the yell
back to school, ring the bell
brand new shoes, walking blues
climb the fence, books and pens
I can tell that we're going to be friends
Walk with me, Suzy Lee
through the park and by the tree
we will rest upon the ground
and look at all the bugs we found
then safely walk to school
without a sound
Well here we are, no one else
we walked to school all by ourselves
there's dirt on our uniforms
from chasing all the ants and worms
we clean up and now its time to learn
Numbers, letters, learn to spell
nouns, and books, and show and tell
at playtime we will throw the ball
back to class, through the hall
teacher marks our height
against the wall
And we don't notice any time pass
we don't notice anything
we sit side by side in every class
teacher thinks that I sound funny
but she likes the way you sing
when silly thoughts go through my head
about the bugs and alphabet
and when I wake tomorrow I'll bet
that you and I will walk together again
cause I can tell that we're going to be friends.

a letter addressed to Heaven.:
dearest gma allen,
summer has come to pass quite fast this year. its not the same without you here. nothing is the same. i have only swam once this year--i know! i used to be a fish--so much has changed.
we miss you. i miss you everyday. i always look at precious photos of us & i smile, remembering each moment vividly. if i close my eyes tight enough, & block out the world around me i can still hear the laughter echoing through your house, i can still smell the perfume on your sweater as i hugged you. you are missed, but you will never be forgotten. never.
i miss you, grandma. how i long to rewind time & push pause. wouldn't that be something? i would want to relive so many moments...but i can't--i can only cherish the memories you have left us with, & be thankful for having had you in my life. our lives. i am so blessed. we are so blessed for having you.
i know you watch upon us, laughing right along in our happy moments, & patting us softly on the back when we have been defeated. i know you are cheering for us in our successes, and i know you are helping us every step of the way... thank you, grandma.
i miss you so much. know that i love you, & that you are always in my heart. Always.
i love you grandma, i always have & i always will.
Love always & forever.
Anna Banana.
